It seems that even after having its Television ad banned by the ASA, Ladbrokes are still pushing the acceptability barrier as far as possible with a tounge-in-cheek ad.
After a complaint by a television veiwer the ASA investigated the advertisement of Ladbrokes Casino.com, it played on the idea that people seeking trills had the choice of either doing daring stunts like, ‘diving with sharks with raw meat attached to them’ and ‘diving with sharks dressed as a sea lion’ or playing at Ladbrokes Casino.
While the advert to most was just amusing, to one particular viewer it was neither funny nor appropriate.
Ladbrokes not one to let a little banned advert stop them, yesturday put a one-page ad in the sun and racing post. howevr this time the ad was aimed at the person who had complained.
The print adoffered a reward of £20 to find the person who wrote to the advertising regulator. It was in the style of a mock-up of a police photo-fit, underneath was printed ‘Missing (a funny bone)…’
